Tomato Bisque and 3-cheese grilled cheese on Japanese Milk Bread



Another winner from "Soup of the Day"  -- and tied with a homemade loaf of Japanese "Milk Bread"  and some extra cheese we had from a recent get together and we had the perfect comfort food for a "chilly" night here in So. Cal (50F).

I increased the bread recipe by 50% and cooked it in a pullman loaf pan with lid to get that perfect shape. My son had to point out that the cheese wasn't fully melted and, in spite of being right, it was soft and cheesy, nonetheless!  (but, yeah, I should not have used it extremely cold straight from the frig).

Definitely not a low fat meal though -- lots of cream in the soup, milk in the bread, and of course, all that cheese in the sandwich!
